Can you believe the snow

That's my car from my front steps. I just dug it out. Anyone want to come and take some of my snow home.

In this photo I am standing in our driveway looking next door, you can hardly see their car. The snow is taking over!

That's right our poor little tree is being swallowed up by the snow. Over the last couple weeks we keep getting snow storms in the middle of the night and when we wake up we have 6 to 12 inches of snow. Like I said before I like snow, it is tons of fun. I am just really tired of shoveling snow.

Well I pulled it off

Andy's 30th birthday is on the 4th. I decided to throw him a surprise party. I used a friends house and because of scheduling we had the party last night. He thought we were going to the Trail's house for dinner and when we showed up there was 30 people standing at the door to greet him. They all yelled surprise. He had no idea what was going on. He asked if it was for me. He was pretty clueless. It was fun we had dinner and played a wine tasting game, and just hung out. Instead of providing drinks for everyone and having people bring gifts. I had everybody bring their own drinks and then one for Andy. It is pretty funny he walked away with all kinds of crazy drinks. Then we went to this bar with our friends the Hightowers. Their was this band The Clumsy Lovers playing. http://www.clumsylovers.com/ It was tons of fun. We danced and sang and people watched. We also did a little talking about Jesus and our Church. The Hightowers kids watched our kids, and we stayed out till 2am. We had fun, but I am tired. I wish some of you VA folks were here to join in on the fun. Hoo Ha sometime you will have to come out when they are playing. Going to Johns Alley and watching The Clumsy Lovers is a complete Moscow experience. Hope you all had a good weekend.

It's been a while

It has been a while. Sorry for the delay in blogs, but it has been busy. We had my birthday which I have a funny story about, more on that in a minute. Then we had Maggie's first birthday yesterday. Next is Andy's big 30 birthday. Now that things are slowing down I feel like I am trying to get sick. I am going to fight it with all I have got. Please pray I don't get sick. Better yet pray my kids don't get sick. Emma is back in school and I don't want her to have to miss days. She has been sneezing and seems to be stuffy. That is a bad sign. Also if Mags gets sick she will sleep even less than she already does. I don't think I can handle that. PLEASE pray we don't get sick. So my birthday. My friend Jeni got a babysitter for her daughter and my girls. Then Andy and I, Huba and Jeni, and my parents all went to this great restaurant The Red Door. We were hanging out, eating, chatting, having fun without the kids. Then at one point Huba tells us that everybody made fun of his pants at work. We all asked him what was wrong with his pants. He then stands up and shows us his pants. I wish I had a photo, they were soooooo funny that I laughed the rest of the night and I laughed so hard I cried for about a half hour. First I have to tell you a little something about Huba, he is the kind of person that doesn't really get embarrassed, and he can't leave things alone. He always points things out and says something about everything. He is really funny, the kind of person you can't help but love. His pants were a chocolate brown color, but they looked like someone had bleach on their hands and wiped their hands all over the pants. The best part was as we all laughed Jeni tells my Mom and I that he isn't gay, and Huba goes on to defend the pants. Telling us they are really comfortable, they have a nice texture, and they were only $3.99. The more he talked to more I laughed. I know this story doesn't even come close to doing the evening justices, but I had to share because I am still laughing about it.

Maggie's First Year

I made this for Maggie's birthday party. I thought some of you would enjoy it. The cutest part is every time it plays she dances.

Snow can make for a good workout

That's right we have snow. On Tuesday night we got 5 inches of snow. We already had a few inches on the ground. Plus last night we got between one and two inches. Getting snow makes winter fun. It gives reason to the cold weather. Plus it makes for lots of fun. This year I have even somewhat enjoyed shoveling snow. It is a nice way to be outside alone and get a bit of a workout. Then Wednesday morning came along and there was 5 inches to be shoveled at one time. I have to say it isn't something I would want to do on a regular basis, but it was a good workout. We have a three car parking area and I shoveled it clean. I really felt like I accomplished something. See usually when I clean something or do something there is a little person behind me making it a mess again. My driveway stayed clear until late last night when it snowed again. I have some photos of our driveway after I cleared the snow. I know all you VA people are jealous of all the snow we have, you are missing out on tons of winter time fun. :)

Can you believe she is almost one

That's right she is less than 2 weeks from being one year old and she still has no hair. Oh well she is pretty scrappy she can pull it off. She is a crazy little kid. It is funny how much you can see her personality already. She is independent, loves to laugh and make others laugh, likes to get her way, doesn't like to sleep, hates clothes, likes to eat, she is tough and loving, loves to dance, and play with big sister. It is kind of hard to believe she is one. The year has gone by fast, but at the same time a lot has happened this year. It does kind of seem like last January is a very long time ago. I am planning a first birthday party. I know she doesn't care, but I do. Plus I don't want to hear Emma had a big party when she was one and I got nothing. Maggie's party is going to be more of a family and close friends not so much little kids. There will be a few little kids, but they are mostly Emma's friends.
Anyway I am kind of excited for her first birthday. I love watching my kids grow up and learn and change. I think she is going to be a pretty funny little kid. She already has a strange grasp on what is funny and what isn't. Although she does laugh when her big sister is mad or getting in trouble, that doesn't make Emma happy. When the party is over I will post photos of the party. Hopefully we will have great pics of her and cake, she has a huge sweet tooth.

It's 2008!

It is a new year, it has been for a few days, but this is my first blog. I really don't have that much to say. I am sitting here paying bills and realizing yet again that we have no money, but that is okay. As long as we can pay our bills and buy food that is really all we need. But I don't really want to go into that. I was thinking about the new year and resolutions people make. How we all, or most people, vow to change some part of their life at the beginning of every year. I am not one to really truly make resolutions, but I do usually think about things I would like to change. This year I should make some sort of resolution or write down the things I want to change. Because this year I feel like there isn't one aspect of my life I don't want to change in some way. I don't think it's a bad thing I think it is just time. I think there are things that have to change to better my and my families life. I think there are things that need to change to become more in line with God's will and glorifying Him. I think some things I want to change really just for me. Things that will make me more happy in day to day life. The problem is I know that every year things come to mind that I want to change and like many of us after a few months I am no longer making any effort to work towards my goals. This year I really want to take steps to keep on track all year and actually make some change in my life for the better. I want to encourage everyone to step out and make changes in your life that will healthier for you and your family, things that will glorify God and serve those around you.
