Thanks God for a good weekend!

I went to the ladies retreat this weekend. It was actually very good. I am always a little unsure about ladies retreats or ladies events, but it was good. I had a lot of fun. The weather was great. I really liked the speaker. I got to know some great ladies from our church. All around good. I had to give my testimony yesterday. They asked me to share a little about how I came to the Lord, but mostly about what God is teaching me know. It was a pretty hard talk for me to give. God is bringing me through some hard stuff. Also I felt like I couldn't really put together an outline for the talk. Then just hours before God gave me some new insight, and I got up and just went for it. Praise the Lord it seemed to go pretty well. At the end of the retreat we were all getting in our cars to go home. Well my car didn't start. Thankfully we got it jumped and went on our way. It was a nice weekend full of laughing, crying, sharing, learning and growing. Thank you God for allowing me to go. Thank you for the ladies that were there. Thank you for the ladies that put the weekend together. Now I pray for the energy, strength and wisdom I need to get through this next week.

I am a dumb ass

So yesterday I did something stupid. Well actually something stupid happened to me. The girls and I met Andy for an early dinner last night. Andy had a meeting and then music practice. We went to this place called Patty's. It is right next to some railroad tracks. After dinner I was walking out to the car holding Maggie. I stepped over the rail of the track and onto some of the big gravel rocks . As I stepped down the rocks slipped and my ankle turned over and I landed on my ankle bone and the other knee. Not dropping my little girl. I looked up and Andy said nice save. I handed him Mags and tried to not cry. I limped to the car and drove home. Driving hurt like crazy, but I sucked it up and drove with tears rolling down my cheeks. When we got home Andy took Emma with him to the meeting and practice. I sat down to ice my ankle. Ten minutes later my ankle was swelling a lot. The ankle bone was huge. It has gone down today, but here is a photo from today.

I decided that I would go to the doctor. I just wanted to make sure I didn't crack the ankle bone. My Mom came in and took me to the doctor. Mags fell asleep in the backseat, so my Mom sat in the car with her for two hours while I was at the doctor. My Mom is great! Well after X rays and having the doctor push on my ankle and ask where it hurts. Why do doctors push and ask where it hurts and then keep pushing on the same spot. I almost hit her. Anyway it is not broken praise the Lord. Now I am limping around with an air cast. I'm just glad I can walk (sort of) and no cast. Praise the Lord!

Chocolate Rain by Chad Vader

I don't know if you have seen the original but this is really funny. You might have to watch it tiwce because the words are really funny. The first time I watched it I laughed too hard to hear the words. If you think this is funny you should check out Vanilla snow it is funny too. That guy makes great faces. When you watch this video just wait until he takes a breath it just about killed me. Enjoy!

Thank you Lord for my kids health

Thank you Lord for the health and safety of my kids. I have had a lot of reminders lately that God has blessed me with two wonderful kids. Who are both healthy and safe. PRAISE THE LORD! I have two friends who have kids that are sick or hurt. One friend has a two year old daughter who has Leukemia. Another friend has a daughter just a month younger than Emma who broke her leg pretty badly last week. She can't put any weight on her leg for 30 days. Wow 30 days of a three year old sitting on the sofa. It is really easy to get side tracked and worry or complain about little things. Like Emma and the cough that will not go away, but are you kidding. I much rather have a child with a nasty cough than a broken leg or cancer. I just wanted to stop and take a minute to remind myself and say thank you to God for my kids being healthy.

Dancing, Fundraising, Birthdays, Sunday School and Life

Well I look at my calendar and I have one weekend with nothing planned between now and June. Memorial weekend. That is sad. How can that be the one weekend I have nothing to do. Well I don't know about nothing to do, but nothing planned. I have Sunday school, Andy is out of town, Daddy Daughter Dances to plan, birthday parties, Fundraisers, dance shows, retreats, etc etc etc. Crazy. I have much to do and yet today, nothing got done. Why does that not surprise me. Anyway tomorrow is a new day, maybe just maybe I will be able to mark something off my to do list. To make things more fun I have pretty much lost my voice. Even though I have all this stuff to do and not feeling well, I am very thankful. I have one friend who recently found out her daughter has Leukemia and another who has a daughter Emma's age who just broke her leg. She can't put any weight on her leg for 30 days. Praise the Lord for the health and safety of my kids.
